Running beyond the Finish Line

The title does not give even a mild description of the stuff you are going to read. Tell me what you gather from the following phrases:

Attitude Adjustment

Twist of Fate

Whisper in the Wind

I can easily get that you people don’t have the habit of watching professional wrestling. Too bad. Same is the feeling for me when it comes to doing things beyond the scheduled time. Off late it has become a habit to try to complete every job you have after the allotted time. Majority give the Excuse: TRYING the best to complete the work today to save time for tomorrow. I have highlighted the word TRYING coz I don believe in trying. All I believe is in DOING.

I asked the question “Why do you work late” to many of my friends and colleagues. Their replies were:

  • First one from the Sponsor for all occasions. Great insult. “Not doing the work in time like you (it means me), is the cause.

  • Next, from the Lizard Hunter– We have continuous job, so have to work. But definitely not a venduthal (self-initiated one).

  • From Yeah! It’s me – Inefficiency or a want of creation of illusion of being a workaholic. Else no active life after office.

  • To meet deadlines, job satisfaction, not realizing that time has flown by.

  • My Golden Compass gave me not just thirteen, but umpteen reasons

  • From cousin of Bruce Lee – Not getting the flow of mind to work within time.

  • From Princess Octavos that hierarchical pressure, waiting the entire day being idle and unforeseen absences etc.

  • The Singing Southpaw said that Its fate. Environmental pressure. Bad company.

  • Final Judgment from our Sheriff – Improper planning and failure in execution of plan.

Have you watched the movie called “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind”? Gosh!! What a movie it was. I never even had the patience to watch it in full. But now after hard seasoning by watching Tamil movies ranging from Siva Manasula Sakthi to Kulir 100 ( 7 movies in a row), it has given me the courage to watch any type of movie. As i am typing this blog, i have watched even the movie called Mayandi Kudumbathar. The same is the experience I feel when you sit late after work hours to do the job. All I wanna mean is that watching these movies are safer when compared to working beyond time. However, what is the pleasure you derive from working after hours and end up losing a good sleep. Losing sleep triggers a chain reaction, – next day you wake up late, do your work slowly and end up working late hours too. This chain then goes on and on, just like the Duracell battery rabbit.

This is the philosophy I advocate all thru my life. Whatever you do enjoy doing it. For, once you enjoy, even pain becomes pleasure, but when you don’t, even breathing becomes a burden. Have you ever laughed out loud for 15 minutes continuously? Have you tried making others laugh for an hour? See in those things you don’t seem to share the interest. But when it comes to petty things like fighting or frowning, you seem to cross the line and make it an endless exercise.

I do not intend to say that these things are small and others are important. Just that you see the small duty and miss out on a big responsibility. In my previous blogs I had asked you about your purpose of life. Many said they didn’t know. Not a big deal. But when it comes to work, why work as if it is your only purpose of birth. Come on, you think Black is the only color, out there the rainbow shows you 7 and Microsoft Paint shows you millions.

Still, even though I enforce on living life than leading a life, there is always a higher force above me waiting to give me more work. So, will write more about it later as it is now in office time hours I am writing about this. Got to get back to work so that I can leave sharp by 5. Exceptions do occur, but those are not in my best interests. So catch you guys later.

Smile during work at least, once an hour. For smiling infuses strength while working drains it. So I don’t advocate working late, when, actually, I don’t even advise working in the first place.

Adios Amigo.

you think Black is the only color, out there the rainbow shows you 7 and Microsoft Paint shows you millions.

great thought on giving such a statement. It was nice.

I completely agree its not great to work late and u say its not good to work in the first place.

This is the reason why i resigned guys. I prefer keeping my life simple instead of so many complications.

My appreciations do come up with a bit of criticism.

    1. Please try improving your humour sense to treat all the people.
    2. Please see to that the character names u use, are easily understandable by all and not only ur colleagues.
    3. Try coming with topics which will make people sit and get back to u again and again.

People just give out whatever they feel. Its upto u to analyse things and play to ur strength. just because one is successful, doesn’t mean u cant be successful.

Its coming ur way man. U succeed
