Plan was drawn a long time ago,

We formed ourselves a group of five,

Started a journey of a few hundred miles.

It was eerie to see none go past,

Seeing our destination, our hearts skipped a beat,

Thanks to Sun God for turning down the heat.

First few miles were All Smiles,

Then began the rocky trail,

Our legs began to feel weak and bent,

Isotonic was the one that kept us in the hunt.

It was indeed a paradise upon earth,

Too much sweat made us take off our shirts,

We were nearing the peak, singing with the breeze,

The size of it almost made our blood freeze.

We were 3800 ft above the ground,

Climbing the next 700 would make us Heroes unbound.

Words can never describe what we saw,

The mere sight made our jaws drop with awe.

It took an hour to cross the final frontier,

But we had our stomach begging with hunger,

Thanks to the committed man on the peak,

Offering food for people any time of the week.

We ate our fill and visited the temple,

The nature’s beauty made us tremble,

We could hear the clouds above grumble,

Wet rocks, we feared, could make us tumble.

We thereby started our descent,

This time we had other people present,

Chatting with them was like adding one more grip,

Guess what, we have plans for our very next trip.

It was late and darkness had set in,

Alone in the woods made fear creep in,

Kartik on the lead and me at the end,

We prayed God for no more scary bends.

We walked in the dark forest for almost an hour,

Seeking the right path was our only fear,

We were relieved when we saw our car,

We crashed on to the seats as our legs could go no far.

Our plans for the next day hit a dead end,

As the guys at Yelagiri did not respond,

We went to Thiruvannamalai to have our dinner,

There we got a room to watch the game of soccer.

Our plan was to start back by six,

Tiredness pushed it another six,

It was 12 when we started our return journey,

Clicking out cameras to refresh our memory.

It is a trip I would remember all my life,

It was like seeing a Phoenix bird rise,

We had a team of Concept and Style,

Added with a tinge of spirituality and smile.

I vow to visit it over and again,

Interested can join us an feel it then,

We came; we saw and emerged as Conquerors,

We the Nocturnal Birds would hike forever.

Excellent da, this is your best post till date without any doubt.

The Best part was the photos in between, they are aptly placed and the whole idea was simply enthralling. It was as if I was travelling through those photos and someone in the background reading those lines. Simply brilliant da.

What is Isotonic by the way?. Looked up in m-w, couldn’t understood that part. Hats off.
